The Reach Engagement Monetization model (or Reach Engagement Monetisation in British English) is a way for website owners, digital media players and other service providers in the digital economy to measure and manage their business.
By combining these three dimensions together, the organization leaders can get a complete view of the health of their external-facing business.
Reach Engagement Monetization figures are compiled at regular intervals, normally monthly, and used to help shape strategic, management and operational decisions.
The Reach metric is a measure of size and market share within the market(s) that the organization is targeting.
Reach is typically measured in terms of the number of unique users and the share of the total targeted market (defined either geographically or by demographic segment).
Engagement is a measure of both how useful the core product is, and how healthy the relationship of the brand with its customers is.
Engagement is measured by time spent per user on-site, the number of pageviews per user (or service use per user), and the percentage of repeat visitors.
Finally, Monetization measures how effectively the organization is at making money from its user base and the pageviews or services consumed.
Monetization is measured by total revenue, revenue per user, and eCPM or revenue per thousand-page impressions.
