Full Definition of NYSE International Index


The NYSE International Index tracks the prices of the largest non-US stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange in the form of American depository receipts (ADRs). An ADR is a negotiable, registered certificate representing a specific number of corporate stocks in a non-US company. The NYSE International Index includes the top 100 non-US companies included in the New York Stock Exchange Composite Index. The NYSE International Index allows purchasers of ADRs to benchmark their foreign investments. The NYSE International Index is weighted using free float-adjusted market capitalization. The NYSE International Index is calculated on both a price and total return basis. The NYSE International Index offers exposure to many countries and diversification across many economic sectors. The NYSE International Index is published daily during the business week with real-time updates during New York Stock Exchange hours of operation. Composition of the NYSE International Index is reviewed quarterly.
