The Wholesale Market Broker’s Association (WMBA) is the UK trade association for UK brokers operating within the money market.
The WMBA provides the SONIA and EURONIA indexes for overnight lending in the Sterling and Euro markets respectively.
The Wholesale Markets Brokers‘ Association (WMBA) is a London-based financial markets body representing the world’s nine largest inter-broker dealers (operating in the wholesale financial markets in interest rates, credit, foreign exchange and equity derivatives) such as BGC, ICAP, GFI, Tradition and Tullett Prebon.
Its members trade in a wide range of OTC (over-the-counter) products and their derivatives in a product range that covers all Treasury and capital markets, including credit default swaps (CDS).
The WMBA also has a sister association, the London Energy Brokers Association (LEBA), whose members trade principally in gas, oil, power and carbon emissions certificates as well as a number of other energy products.
