A supplier request for engineering approval (SREA) is a written request seeking manufacturing changes to a product as for intended customisation purposes. It also often includes changes to design, composition, weight or processing of a particular product. A SREA document typically requires the supplier to state the anticipated impact that any changes in the manufacture will produce, as well as tooling or factory changes required and any impact on shipping schedule and cost.
