Full Definition of Right Of Audience


The right of an individual to speak in court on behalf of another person. Until quite recently, this right in the UK was limited to barristers. Now, solicitors can apply for this right; at the time of writing, approximately 1,000 UK solicitors have rights of audience in the various courts.
