Perkonomics

Full Definition of Perkonomics

Perkonomics refers to a consumer-driven trend where purchasing decisions are made based on the perks and benefits that are provided together with that purchase.

For many years airlines, hotels, private banks and others have rewarded customers with special privileges such as discounts, free items, access to exclusive events or products, special facilities and so on.

Marketers are extending that idea beyond standard loyalty programs to include a wide range of perks and benefits designed to emotionally connect with their customers, provide greater convenience, and help to enhance their status.
