A Margin Specialist, also know as a Collateral Specialist, is responsible for reducing risk in financial transactions in which collateral has been offered to provide security against payment default. Collateral may be in the form of cash, assets, securities or other forms. Transactions these specialists are involved in include consumer/small business lending, business-to-business lending and over-the-counter (OTC) derivative transactions.
