Stocks trading in numerous countries and denominated in numerous currencies. Despite being available in many nations, all holders have equal rights in the corporation. This is different from American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) or Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) because the latter two are local securities representing foreign interests whereas global shares are foreign stocks traded in local exchanges. Also known as global registered shares.
