Full Definition of Accumulation

  1. Regular investment of a fixed dollar amount in a mutual fund with dividends reinvested.
  2. In charting, the period before a sustainable price rise when the so-called smart money starts to buy stock.
  3. Purchase of a large number of shares over a period of time in a manner designed to avoid pushing the price up.
