Full Definition of Position Self


To make a long or short investment in a security or other asset in anticipation of a positive or negative movement in the price of that asset. Phrases such as “positioning yourself”, “taking a position”, or “holding a position” refer to setting up or maintaining a particular investment with the goal of realizing a profit on that investment after the price of the asset changes.
