“Out of court” refers to legal matters or disputes that are resolved or settled outside of the formal judicial process, typically through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or other alternative dispute resolution methods. Parties involved in a legal dispute may choose to resolve their issues out of court to save time, money, and resources, and to maintain more control over the outcome of their case. Out-of-court settlements often involve the parties reaching an agreement or compromise without the need for a trial or formal adjudication by a judge or jury.
