An electronic exchange created in 2001 after three exchanges, Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), and Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), joined together to form one exchange to trade future contracts on narrow-based indexes and individual common stocks. Members of all three exchanges taking part in this joint venture are not required to apply for or maintain a membership on Onechicago, LLC.
