A subsidiary or affiliate of a business that is located in another country, typically in the jurisdiction of a nation with favorable corporate tax policies. The purpose of an offshore financial subsidiary is to issue stock and other securities in international markets in order to raise capital for domestic or foreign business activities of the parent corporation.
