Full Definition of MSCI Emerging Markets Index


Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) index to measure the relatively risky emerging global markets equity performance, consisting of indices in 26 emerging economies around the world. Emerging markets are affected by economies, politics and currency fluctuations, and can be included as part of overall investment portfolio as a means of diversifying risk; although on their own are considered extremely risky with the potential for either large profits or large losses.
