A licensee is an individual or entity that has been granted permission or authorisation by a licensor to use, occupy, or access a property, asset, or intellectual property for a specific purpose or period of time. The relationship between a licensor and a licensee is typically governed by a license agreement, which outlines the terms and conditions of the license, including any restrictions, obligations, and rights of the licensee. Licenses can cover a wide range of assets, including real estate, software, patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Unlike a lease or ownership agreement, a license does not convey ownership of the property or asset to the licensee but rather grants a limited right or privilege to use it in accordance with the terms of the agreement. Failure to comply with the terms of the license agreement may result in the revocation of the license or legal action by the licensor.
