What is the dictionary definition of Free Riding?

Dictionary Definition

  1. The withholding of part of a new securities issue by a syndicate member, with the intention of selling it later at a higher price. Illegal.
  2. The rapid buying and selling of a security by a broker or customers without putting up personal funds for the purchase. Illegal.
