Full Definition of Fiscal Quarter


One of four three-month accounting periods that comprise a fiscal year for government, businesses, and other organizations. Publicly-traded companies are required to file a Form 10-Q disclosing their financial condition to the Securities & Exchange Commission within 45 days of the close of each fiscal quarter.
