Full Definition of Educator Expenses Deduction


A tax deduction availed of a teacher who paid for classroom supplies and equipment out of their own pocket. Any teacher, instructor, counselor or principal with at least 900 working hours in a school year may avail of a maximum of $250 tax deduction. This deduction only applies to grade school and high school educators.
