Full Definition of Cyclical Risk


Risk of business or economic cycles that will adversely affect an investment’s return or a company’s profits. Analyzed by looking at cycle of economy noting its peaks, downturns and troughs. Investments are known to fall at between the peak and trough of the economic cycle as a reflection of economic uncertainty. Often tied to inflationary risk which is also considered cyclical in nature.
