Full Definition of Custody Only Trading


A type of system used for the protection of stock shares from naked short sellers whereby these stock shares may only be traded if the name of the holder or owner shows up on the actual stock certificate. With this system, only if the actual stock certificate physically changes hands may the shares be traded by the owner.
