Full Definition of Closed Period


1. The period of time between a callable bond’s issuance and when it is eligible to be called by the issuing company. 2. A period of time in which a commercial mortgage cannot be prepaid. The closed period prevents holders of a commercial mortgage from paying off the mortgage and refinancing before a certain date.
