Canned Program


Full Definition of Canned Program


A software product or solution, usually purchased from a software company, which cannot be modified or altered beyond the original functionality. While companies that produce their own analysis software can extend the capability of the software by changing the programming, purchasers of canned programs are limited to features and capabilities provided by the software vendor.
