The total dollar amount that an investor can use to invest on margin. This amount is usually shown on account statements that brokers send to individuals monthly. The borrowing power of securities will vary from one individual investor to another, depending on various traits and circumstances including but not limited to: credit history, brokers, lending policies and type of security.
