Full Definition of Bolsa De Madrid


One of four regional stock exchanges used by Spain. Bolsa De Madrid is made up of four indices with the Ibex-35 index being the largest of the four. The Ibex-35 is made up of the most liquid Spanish stocks traded on a continuous basis. Stocks, convertible bonds, government debt and fixed-income securities are all traded on the Bolsa De Madrid. 90% of transactions handled by the Bolsa De Madrid are done so using the electronic Spanish Stock Market Interconnection System also known as SIBE. The Bolsa De Madrid was formed in 1831 and has grown to be the most international and largest of Spain’s stock exchanges.
