Full Definition of Assignment Of Trade


Formal transaction process involving mortgage-backed securities (MBS) to be announced market, which includes an obligation to assign an existing forward trade to a third party while at the same time agreeing to sell an equal amount of loans to the same third party for the same price of the assigned trade. These trades are generally used to avoid receiving or delivery of securities into a to be announced (TBA) trade.
