Describes the action of an unexpected fall in a stock price, which usually occurs after shareholders receive disappointing news about the company. This type of stock price decline is labeled an air pocket stock because the price falls in a similar pattern as when a plane is coasting along and hits an air pocket, causing a quick drop.
