A company that is the holding company of a group in which some of the subsidiary companies are themselves immediate holding companies of their own groups.
The Ultimate Holding Company (also know as ultimate parent company) is a company that is the holding company of a group in which some of the subsidiary companies are themselves immediate holding companies of their own groups.
An ultimate holding company has ultimate or overall control of the new company. In essence, one company controls another. An ultimate holding company can have any number of subsidiaries but cannot itself be a subsidiary.
